Can steel fiber completely replace traditional welded wire mesh in industrial flooring?+
Yes. In ground-bearing industrial slabs (slabs-on-grade), hooked end steel fibers (such as our 50mm and 60mm fibers at 20-30 kg/m³) are routinely designed to completely replace conventional welded wire fabric (BRC mesh). Steel fibers provide 3-dimensional multi-directional crack control, higher shear resistance under heavy forklift wheels, and eliminate the risk of displaced rebar mesh chairs during concrete placement.
How do you prevent steel fibers from balling or clumping in the concrete mixer?+
Earth Fibrex produces both loose fibers with optimized aspect ratios and Glued Hook End Steel Fibers. Glued fibers are bound into bundles using water-soluble adhesive. When charged into transit mixers or high-speed planetary batchers, the adhesive dissolves within minutes, releasing single fibers evenly throughout the mix with zero balling. We also provide dosing blower chutes and hopper feed guidance.
What is the difference between AR Glass Fiber and standard Polypropylene Fiber?+
AR Glass Fiber has high Zirconia content (>16.7%) to resist high alkaline cement matrices and delivers massive tensile modulus (72 GPa), making it suitable for structural GRC panels and screeds without corrosion. Polypropylene (PP) Fiber is a virgin homopolymer micro-fiber specifically designed to arrest plastic shrinkage cracking during early hours (0-24 hrs) and reduce explosive spalling during fire exposure.
What packaging options are available for domestic and export shipments?+
Our standard packaging is 20 kg or 25 kg multi-wall moisture-proof craft paper bags. For large infrastructure projects, ready-mix concrete plants, and export orders, we supply 1000 kg or 1200 kg heavy-duty jumbo bulk bags shrink-wrapped on seaworthy wooden pallets.
